EPIS Report on International Economic Relations - Issue I

First issue of the report on International Economic Relations!

How do escalating tariffs, shifting alliances, and economic nationalism alter global economic stability? We argue that protectionist policies—especially U.S. tariffs, foreign aid cuts, and politically motivated trade measures—disrupt supply chains, fuel inflation, weaken multilateral institutions, and empower alternative blocs like BRICS and the Belt and Road Initiative. These dynamics signal a transition toward a fragmented, multipolar economic order in which states must balance national interests with the realities of interdependence to maintain long-term stability.
