Franklin D. Roosevelt became the 32. US President amidst the Great Depression. To recover from the financial crisis, Roosevelt introduced the "New Deal". The "New Deal" consisted of "three R's": Relief for the poor and unemployed, Recovery from the financial crisis, and regulations on the financial markets to prevent future crises. Roosevelt remains the only US President to run for four terms, staying in office from 1933-1945.
